EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE MAKERS NIGHT MARKET

It's almost here! Our first ever Night Market! After long dreaming of hosting such an event, we can't wait to welcome you to the courtyards of the Huron Historic Gaol which will be transformed into a fun, creative atmosphere. The market will feature a variety of hands-on activities to help visitors explore their own creativity, as well as a number of talented, local artisans selling their handmade items and local food makers selling delicious treats and bites to eat. The evening will also feature buskers throughout the evening and performances by local groups Dames Rocket, who will be playing at 8:30 p.m., and Roadside Glow, who will be playing at 9:30 p.m. 

But before you come, here is what you need to know:
  • The market runs from 5:30-10:30 p.m.
  • There is no charge to attend the market - all are welcome!
  • The Gaol is located at 181 Victoria St. N.
  • Entrance to the market is through the doors to the west side of the Gaol off the Huron County Planning Department parking lot off Gloucester Terrace. 
  • If you are driving to the market, there is plenty of parking along Gloucester Terrace.

Who will be there and what will they be selling:
  • Grab a bite to eat or something to quench your thirst from:
    • Coastal Coffee
    • Sweet Love Eats
    • Petojo Food & Catering
    • Wicked Witches of West Street
    • Baked by a Bunny
    • Friends of the Museum
  • Ann Gibson, of Upcycle Lifestyle, will be selling a variety of her sewn products, like her grow-with-me pants and reusable facial rounds. Ann will also demonstrate how she has gone waste-free with her business.
  • Paul Cook, of Paul the Maker, will be selling his woodworking and will demonstrate is work in action.
  • Made by Jess will be selling her gorgeous embroidered pieces and jewelry and will also be demonstrate embroidery.
  • Goderich woodworker Ron Bushell will be selling his woodworking and will also have a variety of his handmade games available to try.
  • Kelly Stevenson will be selling her art pieces, including prints, zines, bags, etc. 
  • Susan Glousher will be sharing a tent with Kelly Stevenson and will have her beautiful art cards and more.
  • Lake Huron Design Co. will be there with their handmade decor. Join them for a game or two of yardzee!
  • Owligraphy will be selling their beautiful handlettered cards and will also be doing demos of handlettering.
  • Sew Cute will have handmade blankets, bibs and more!
  • Be sure to stop by the Huron County Library tent where they will be demonstrating 3-D printing, robotics and button making.
  • Erica Baxter, of Gypsy & Co., will be selling her leather crafts.
  • Steph Fox will be selling her handmade crochet toys and artwork, and will be demonstrating weaving.
  • Susan Hundertmark will be bringing her sewing, which includes toiletry bags, wallets, cross-body bags, and more.
  • Jenna Smith will be offering tarot readings.
  • Desiree Dawn Designs will be selling her handmade jewelry.
  • Karissa Chow, of Da Bomb Bath and Beauty, will be selling bath bombs, essential oils, jewelry, and her daughter Lachlan will also be busking.
  • Monica Eckert will be selling her art cards and more.
  • Melissa Pfrimmer makes a variety of things, including slippers, hooded towels, kids to-shirts, and more.
  • Kleinton is a young woodworker who is part of the Summer Company small business program. He will also be sharing his handmade items.
